What this test checks

This visual test checks whether the browser receives each keyboard event and maps it to the expected key position, including modifiers, function keys, navigation keys, and the number pad.

How to interpret results

Press keys one at a time and in combinations. A key that highlights consistently is reaching the browser; a missing or repeated highlight can indicate a hardware, layout, accessibility, or operating-system setting issue.

Limitations

The page cannot measure switch wear, electrical continuity, key pressure, or events reserved by the operating system. Browser shortcuts and some media keys may never reach the page.

Troubleshooting

Confirm the selected layout, click the test before typing, disable key-remapping tools temporarily, try the keyboard on another port or device, and compare the result in another browser.
